Amaya of GMA7 is now trending in Yahoo Philippine . It has not trend in Twitter last night but it landed a 1st spot in Yahoo Philippines . I had watch the epic series last night and it feels like watching Jewel in the Palace and Jumong. The Karakoa warship that they use is just like those used by Pintados Tribe in Pre Spanish Era.I am looking forward in watching Amaya because I find it educational and entertaining .History is not my favorite subject but I really like Epic stories so I am going to watch this till end.

I remember being amazed about Korean Traditional drama like Jumong, Dae Jang Geum, Hwang Jin Yi, Empress Chun Chu because of its set, costumes as well as how the story evolves into a more interesting story. I remember asking my friend who is also an addict fan of this series on why Filipinos doesn't create its own Traditional period drama?.
That friend told me that creating such drama will need loads of money as it is really too expensive and no businessman in his right mind will spend a huge amount of money for just one series.
Then, this time is different because this 2011 GMA7 has finally created the epic drama that I am really hoping to watch. Finally, the AMAYA is going to be launched tomorrow in Philippine TV. This story is set in the pre-colonial period of the 1500's. It is about a princess who is "BINUKOT" (portrayed by Marian Rivera) and has a snake twin, who is later forced into slavery then to the warrior after she discovers her extraordinary powers which she uses to lead her people at a time when male dominated society. Amaya is going to change her world as well as it will change our viewing habit. Finally, we have our own series we can call our own, if Korea has its own Dae Jang Geum or Jewel in the Palace, then we can proudly say that Filipinos have its own Amaya.
